The poem in the mirror:

They turned their greed
into diplomatic deed

Individual endeavor they now confess
to turn in the service of the wholeness

Human to human, human to vegetation,
human to animal, human in salvation

But soon they start to sense, that they cannot get from hence

The work is inspired by the first chapter of the versed picture story

“Max & Moritz” of the humorous poet Wilhelm Busch. Max and Moritz play a naughty trick on the chickens and the rooster of Widow Bolte. They knot two ropes forming a cross and attach a half an inch wide piece of bread to each end of the rope and lay it out in the garden.

At the drop of a hat each chicken pecks a bit of bread and swallows the entire piece, being attached to the rope. Flattering around and pulling the rope to the right and to the left doesn’t help. Their fate is sealed. After all they fly up together, getting entangled in the branches of a tree and hang. Four chickens find their doom through a simple wish to eat.

An interesting metaphor that lends itself to illustrate humanly unreflected avaricious desire for things, whether it’s food, material goods or power, which could finally be one’s undoing.

But soon they start to sense, that they cannot get from hence II

But soon they start to sense, that they cannot get from hence
